Until I Became An Orchid

Bungi TaengcheonAlso known as: 한 명의 난초가 되기까지

Life means living for someone else. Jieon has always lived for others, her impoverished neighbors, her mother, and her aunt. During the winter before her senior year of high school, she meets Uitae, the older brother of her only neighborhood friend, Uiju, at Uiju's funeral. “You're Yang Jieon, aren't you?” He's frightening, a man who can't even use chopsticks properly and whose occupation is a mystery. Yet she can't stop thinking about him. Before long, she finds herself bringing him side dishes and even tutoring him. The most pitiful man she has ever met. What began as sympathy gradually grows into something much deeper. “I like you.” “Jieon... that's the first time anyone has ever told me they liked me.”
