In short
Comicatch doesn't own, upload or host any comics. It indexes chapters that third-party sites publish and shows them from those sites. If you hold the rights to a work and want it gone from Comicatch, email [email protected] with the details below. We usually act within 48 hours, and a removed series stays removed.

01What Comicatch is

Comicatch is an index. It lists series and chapters that other websites publish, links copies of the same series together, and loads each chapter's pages from the site that publishes it when a reader opens it. Pages and covers are not uploaded to or stored on our servers (they are resized in transit, and our network provider may cache them briefly).

All titles, artwork, characters, translations and trademarks shown on Comicatch belong to their respective owners. Comicatch is not affiliated with them or with the sites it indexes. Because the files live on those sites, removing a series from Comicatch does not remove it from the site that hosts it; to have it taken off the internet, contact that site (it is named on every chapter) or its hosting provider as well.

02Filing a takedown notice

Send your notice to [email protected] with the subject “DMCA Takedown Notice”. To be valid it must include:

  • The work. Identification of the copyrighted work you say is infringed (title, author or artist, publisher). For several works, a representative list is fine.
  • Where it is on Comicatch. The link to each series (for example comicatch.com/title/123-name) or chapter, enough for us to find it.
  • Your contact details. Your name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
  • Good faith. A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  • Accuracy and authority. A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
  • Signature. Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is enough).

Notices missing these details may not be actionable; we'll tell you what's missing. Knowingly false claims can make the sender liable for damages (17 U.S.C. § 512(f)).

03What we do with it

  • We confirm we received your notice, normally within one business day.
  • Once it checks out, we take down the series or chapters named: they disappear from listings, search, their pages and the reader, usually within 48 hours.
  • A taken-down series stays down: our indexer keeps it hidden even when the sites it comes from publish new chapters.
  • Where we can, we let anyone affected know, and we keep a record of the notice.

04Counter-notices

If you believe something was removed by mistake or misidentification, send a counter-notice to [email protected] including: your name, address, phone number and signature; the content removed and where it appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification; and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your address (or, outside the United States, any judicial district where Comicatch may be found), and to accept service from the person who filed the original notice.

We forward valid counter-notices to the original sender and may restore the content after 10 to 14 business days unless they tell us they have filed a court action.

05Repeat infringers

Comments and profiles are the only things users post on Comicatch. Accounts that repeatedly post infringing material are suspended. See the Terms of Service for the rules on what you may post.
