Privacy Policy

• Your bookmarks, history, reading progress and reader settings are stored in your browser (local storage), not on our servers.
• We keep two small cookies only when needed: your chosen reading languages (cc_langs) and, once you sign in, your session (cc_session).
• Visitor statistics come from Umami, which we run ourselves. It uses no cookies and no cross-site tracking; it records the page, referrer, browser, device type and the country and city worked out from your IP address, without storing the address.
• Chapter pages and covers are fetched by our server from the sites that publish them, so those sites see our server, not you.

• Your email address, to send sign-in codes and identify your account. If you sign in with Google or Discord, we keep their account id, your email, name and profile picture.
• Your display name, avatar, profile and its visibility settings.
• Your library (bookmarks, history, progress), so it syncs across devices.
• Ratings, reactions and comments you post, with their dates.
• Sign-in sessions: when they started and were last used.

When you sign in by email and have no name or picture yet, we check whether your address has a public Gravatar profile (by sending Gravatar a hash of it, never the address) and use its name and picture if so.

To run your account and sync your library (to provide the service you asked for), to show your comments and profile, to keep the site safe and fight spam and abuse, and to understand which pages people use so we can improve them (our legitimate interest). We don't sell your data, use it for advertising, or build profiles across other sites.

• Our hosting provider, where our server and database run.
• Cloudflare, which sits in front of the site for security and speed and sees your IP address and requests.
• Resend, which delivers sign-in code emails.
• Google or Discord, only if you choose to sign in with them.

Account data stays until you delete your account; deleting it removes your profile, library, ratings, reactions and comments. Sign-in sessions expire after 90 days without use. Sign-in codes expire within minutes. Anonymous visit statistics are kept in aggregate.

• Export: Settings → Library → Download my data saves your bookmarks, history and reading progress as a file. For a copy of anything else, email us.
• Delete: Settings → Account → Delete account removes it and what you posted for good.
• Correct: change your name, avatar and profile any time in Settings.
• Anything else, including access, objection or a question about your data: [email protected]. Depending on where you live (for example the EU or UK), you may also complain to your data protection authority.

Comicatch is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly create accounts for them. If you think one exists, tell us and we will delete it.

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too, and significant changes will be mentioned on the site. See also our Terms of Service.
